Meade LX200

Original image

In 1997, I paid into a third share for a MEADE 10" LX200 with Nik and Ian. The idea being this scope stayed with me on La Palma (and which I could use) so saving those guys huge airport excess baggage charges and not having to lug around this heavy piece of equipment to and from airports whenever they came over.

I don't use it so much these days, but it still works fine and points and tracks well after all these years. The box dangling down (must have dropped off!) powers the dew removal heating band wrapped around the top of the OTA. Photo taken in 2009
